Southeast Portland

Southeast Portland stretches from the Willamette to the eastern edge of Portland and from Burnside down to Milwaukie on the southern boundary. Neighborhoods in SE encompass a wide variety of homes styles, neighborhood character, and retail districts. SE Portland is probably best known for its “hippie” Hawthorne neighborhood, popular with tourists and full of eclectic shops and restaurants. There are well-used porches and coffee shops everywhere you look. It’s also popular with home buyers and renters for having the some of the most walkable and bikeable neighborhoods boasting multiple pedestrian-friendly retail corridors along Division, Hawthorne, Belmont, and Burnside.

SE has several beautiful tree-lined historic neighborhoods such as diagonally-oriented Ladd's Addition, and the winding streets of Laurelhurst and EastmorelandLaurelhust Park is a magnificent park with a graceful pond and popular Frisbee field. Mt Tabor is SE’s other landmark park and enjoys its status as a cinder cone volcano with great views of downtown and Mt Hood. Prestigious Reed College is located in the southern area of SE and boasts a beautiful green grounds adjoining the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens. With it’s thriving walking districts, waterfront access, parks galore and plenty of attitude, Southeast Portland is a wonderful place to live.
