We Listed 2 Portland Homes Over A Million Dollars In The Span Of A Week… What Does This Tell Us About The Market?

Million dollar homes are continuously growing more common in the Portland metro area. According to Trulia, 1 in 40 homes in the Portland area are hitting the million-dollar price point in 2018. That’s 2.5%, which comparatively speaking is still somewhat low. Seattle-area million-dollar homes have climbed to 13% of their market. Although million-dollar homes are still rare, it’s clear they’re on the rise. Our recent listings agree.
Whether it’s old charm or modern luxury, Portland homebuyers are willing to spend more. The first photo above is a spectacular contemporary North Portland home with a full turn-key ADU built in 2016. We sold this 4 bedroom, 3.1 bathrooms modern oasis for $1,070,000 on N Albina Ave. Completely different in style and feel is the charming old-Portland Alameda home pictured below the contemporary. This beautiful 1913 house had a full studs-out remodel and new 2nd story by DHR Renovation in 2014. This 4 bedroom, 3.1 sold for $1,100,000 on NE 53rd Ave. It’s safe to say, we’ll expect more million-dollar homes in the Portland area in 2019.
